Songwriters Contest

While every artist to pick up a guitar has his or her own distinctive style, Texan musicians share a certain independence and spirit which is unique to the state. Texas is home to some of the best musicians and songwriters in the country, and it is a natural progression for a festival seeking out the best music in the state to promote the talents of those who sing and play guitar to their own original tunes.

The Fiddlers' Frolics is excited this year to add the 1st Annual Songwriters' Serenade to the weekend's events. Entrants send in a CD or tape of their songs which will be evaluated by our 3 judges. The judges will pick ten semi-finalists to perform Saturday starting at 9AM outside at the festival. Six finalists will be chosen to perform in round two, and then a winner will be chosen to receive a $1,000 prize.

Come and see up-and-coming artists perform at this first year of the Songwritersí Serenade. Admission to this event is free.
